Works Manager Leaves for Overseas Role
14 February 2008 - Chris Dempsey, Westport Works Manager for Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd will leave the company late in May to take up a position overseas.
Announcing the resignation to Westport staff this week, General Manager – Cement Ross Pickworth said “During the four years that Chris has been Works Manager he has made a tremendous contribution to our cement plant operation. He has also gained respect for his support of and involvement in the Westport community, and will be missed by all.”
Prior to taking up his appointment at Westport in 2004, Chris Dempsey’s career in the cement industry had taken him to roles in his native Australia, in England, and in Vietnam. He has described the new overseas role he takes up later this year as offering him “new challenges”.
“Because appointment to a key role such as this takes some time, recruitment for Chris’s replacement will commence immediately”, Ross Pickworth said.
