Corporate advisory: Securities Markets Amendment
You are no doubt aware that the Securities Markets Amendment Act 2006 (Amendment Act), comes into force tomorrow (29 February 2008), and will amend the Securities Markets Act 1988 (Act).
The changes are far-reaching and cover insider trading laws, changes to the disclosure by substantial security holders, new market manipulation provisions and a general dealing misconduct provision, and new disclosure requirements for investment advisers and investment brokers.
Simpson Grierson has been following and analysing the Amendment Act closely and I am pleased to send you a series of updates on the various aspects of the Amendment Act. Should you have any trouble opening the attachments they are also available on our website http://www.simpsongrierson.com/publications/fyis/fyi-corporate-advisory-.html
