Legal Aid Figures Context: Legal Aid 'Rich List'
Legal Aid Figures Need Context - The Legal Aid 'Rich List'
LawFuel - The Law Jobs and Legal NewsWire
The legal aid figures referred to last week by LawFuel.co.nz need to be given some context. Barristers, for instance, are represented as individuals whereas the figures released by the Legal Aid Services Board shows only the name of the individual.
Often the figures represent multiple fee earners and others. In the case of Michael Reed QCs figure, for instance, the legal aid figure incorporates up to six fee earners, experts' and pathologists fees, air fares and more.
The legal aid 'Rich List' shows the top earning lawyers and law firms from legal aid payments over the past 18 months, until the end of December 2007.
