REINZ submission available on website
The Real Estate Institute of New Zealand has today lodged its submission on the Real Estate Agents Bill 2007 with the Justice and Electoral Select Committee and posted it on the REINZ website: http://www.reinz.co.nz
The REINZ Industry Training Organisation has also presented a submission which is attached at Appendix Two.
REINZ National President Murray Cleland said the document represented a significant piece of work and ran to more than 400 pages, including appendices. For ease of reference, there is a four page executive summary of REINZ main arguments (pages 12 to 15 of the submission).
“We have identified a number of serious issues with the Bill which the submission canvasses and which we plan to raise with the Committee when we appear before it to give oral submissions,” Mr Cleland said.
“The industry is putting great stock on the select committee process because the Bill requires substantial amendment if it is going to work in practice and to deliver the consumer benefits the Government and the public are seeking,” he said.
