Waikato-Bay of Plenty Lawyers At Top Of Legal Aid 'Rich List'

www.LawFuel.co.nz - Figures obtained under the Official Information Act reveal lawyers in the Waikato-Bay of Plenty region receive some of the highest payouts under the scheme as any other region in New Zealand.
Lawfuel.co.nz published the Legal Aid list on its website, which shows that the top receipients for the final six month period of 2007 was Rangitauira & Co with over $800,000, followed by Te Nahu Law with over $540,000.
The total 'top 10' firms for the region took over $3.8 million, compared to Canterbury, which took only $1.7 million for the same period.
The top 10 earners for the region (for the six months period) were:
