Site Search For More Than 250 Customers Worldwide

News Release 28March 2008

SLI Systems’ Hosted Site Search Services and Technology Chosen by More Than 250 Customers Worldwide

Learning Search™ Innovator Continues Growth Track for Six Consecutive Years; Nearly Doubles Customer Sites and Sales Team over Past Year

SLI Systems, Inc., a provider of on-demand search services for Internet and e-commerce sites, announced today that its Learning Search™ hosted site search solution is now in use by more than 250 customer sites across the globe, more than double the number of sites from a year ago. The addition of new customers has contributed to a 60% year-over-year revenue increase from sales of the company’s flagship Learning Search product.

While the majority of the customer growth occurred in the U.S., SLI’s customer base expanded in other areas of the globe as well, including the UK and the Asia Pacific regions. To keep up with the increased customer activity, SLI added significantly to its global employee base and almost doubled the size of its sales team during the year.

Since its inception more than six years ago, SLI Systems has experienced steady customer and revenue growth – not an easy feat for a technology startup that’s received no outside funding, according to CEO Shaun Ryan.

“In the face of an economic downturn we’re still seeing sales volume increase month after month. We attribute this success to many factors, among them the power of our services and technology in improving the customer experience online, as well as the responsiveness and high-quality of customer service our clients have come to expect. We also offer a free trial and require no up-front investment, making our search solution an easy choice, particularly for companies with tightened budgets.

“Our Learning Search offering is now in use by high-profile ecommerce and Internet sites like Vermont Teddy Bear (www.vermontteddybear.com), FTD (www.ftd.com), Republic of Tea (www.republicoftea.com), New England Journal of Medicine (www.nejm.org) and many more. All of these companies have at least one thing in common: they want to make it as easy as possible for site visitors to find what they’re looking for, and after evaluating many options they decided SLI was the best choice,” Dr Ryan said.

SLI Systems was founded in 2001 by Ryan and other members of the SLI executive team as a search solutions provider for online web sites and Internet portals. The company was formed out of the original GlobalBrain search company, which was acquired by NBC and Snap.com in the late 1990s.

More recently, SLI has focused on providing its Learning Search technology to the ecommerce market, which SLI identified as having been highly undeserved in the areas of site search and search engine optimization (SEO). Through a combination of its own learning-based search products, and partnerships with other industry-leading ecommerce solutions providers, SLI gives online merchants complete, end-to-end search, ecommerce marketing and usability solutions to help customers increase their presence on the web and capture more sales.
