Phil Goff on Engaging with China
Progressing our trade agenda & Engaging with China
HON PHIL GOFF, MINISTER OF TRADE
New Zealand finds itself at present in the middle of an active international trade agenda. While securing a successful outcome in the Doha Round remains New Zealand’s number one trade objective, negotiations on the bilateral and regional front are also progressing rapidly.
To find out more about the current and evolving direction of New Zealand’s trade policy and what this might mean for New Zealand businesses, we invite you to come and hear from Minister of Trade, the Hon Phil Goff.
With the NZ-China Free Trade Agreement also progressing towards conclusion and on track for signature in early April, this luncheon will also provide an excellent opportunity to find out more about the shape of the agreement, how businesses can look to engage with China, and what sort of opportunities an FTA with our third largest trading partner can offer.
Ranked 4th in the current Cabinet, Mr Goff’s lengthy political career has seen him hold several high profile ministerial positions, including several with key links to international affairs.
