Top funds management lawyer moves to DLA Phillips Fox NZ

LawFuel - The Law Jobs and Legal NewsWire

A leading DLA Phillips Fox funds management and superannuation partner has moved to DLA Phillips Fox New Zealand’s Auckland office.

Sue Brown, formerly a partner in DLA Phillips Fox’s Sydney office, has acted for a wide variety of significant financial institutions and superannuation schemes in both New Zealand and Australia. Earlier, Sue Brown was a partner with DLA Piper in the United Kingdom, where she acted for major superannuation schemes.

Alasdair McBeth, head of DLA Phillips Fox’s Australasian funds management and superannuation team, said that Sue Brown’s move consolidated the firm’s position as New Zealand’s premier dedicated funds management and superannuation lawyers. He said that Sue Brown is a highly regarded lawyer in her field and that her expertise, and local and offshore experience are well known in the industry. ‘She will add considerable strength to our national team at a time when the industry is facing unprecedented change,' he said.

The firm is regarded as a rejuvenated market force following its alliance with one of the world’s largest legal services organisations, DLA Piper, which gives it access to DLA Piper's global network and work referrals. DLA Phillips Fox has aggressive plans to further grow its market share over the next three years. 'Sue Brown’s move to Auckland is part of our strategic focus on the funds management and superannuation industry', said Alasdair McBeth.
