Along with every other proud All Black fan, it was Pride In Print Chairperson John North’s worst nightmare.... a cleverly-designed promotional pop-up called “In Search of the Greatest 2007”. When judges for the NZ Pride In Print Awards picked up the card they found it had an Eiffel Tower pop up, complete with flashing light and a sound chip that played the Marseillaise and then “Ozzie Ozzie Ozzie”. The groans of despair at reliving NZ’s two worst nightmares – the World Cup loss to the French and cheering on the Aussies – did not stop the judges admiring the ingenuity behind this entry from Format of the Hutt Valley, produced for Toyota Australia, in the sheetfed printing four-colour category. It was a moment of light relief during the intense judging of nearly 800 entries over three days at Auckland's Alexandra Park raceway. Winners will be announced at the Pride In Print Awards Dinner in Auckland's Sky City on May 16.
