New Senior Appointment at
Criterion Reflects Continued Growth
Leading NZ furniture manufacturer Criterion has promoted Chris Pickering to the position of Group Marketing Manager, based in Auckland.
Pickering, who joined Criterion in 2004 as NZ Sales Manager, was previously NZ Sales & Marketing Manager, with his role growing to include managing sales to the USA.
In his new role, Pickering is responsible for New Zealand and all Criterion’s export markets, including North America, South America, Asia, Middle East and Europe.
According to Criterion Group CEO Brian Smaill, Pickering is well suited for his new position, having recently attained a ‘Master of Management’ at Auckland University. “His proven sales and marketing experience and extensive knowledge of Criterion processes will be of great value in his new role,” he says.
Set up 40 years ago, Criterion is Australasia’s largest manufacturer of flat panel furniture, with computer/office, entertainment, kitchen and lifestyle furniture among its best selling ranges.
Its highly automated East Tamaki manufacturing plant has the capacity to produce up to 2000 units of furniture per day, with around 70% of total production going offshore. Criterion is also the first and currently only furniture manufacturer in New Zealand to attain the Enviro-Mark NZ Diamond Standard.
