I'm desperately trying to contact former Upper Hutt lawyer and convicted kidnap conspirator John Burrett to implement a plan to seize law firm consultant Ron Pol and conceal him in a cellar until he releases the names of two, top performing corporate law firms. I roughly know Ron's movements so can help John, who has greater expertise in this area than myself. I may also call in an Austrian friend who wants to assist in the human cellaring for cultural reasons. Burrett has an ideal opportunity to promote his book, "One Game Too Many" through the stunt.
At last week ' s Corporate Lawyers Association meeting in Rotorua Ron, principal in TeamFactors, spoke about his extensive survey of law firm rankings in terms of their comparative performance. The resulting matrix shows a clear trend line from 'relatively cheap-relatively low performance' through to 'expensive-high performance'. Two firms however stand out as high performance yet relatively cheap. My pick is Crown Law is one of those, being one of the 14 largest 'firms' but obviously a Government outfit that's not competing on any equal footing.
More interesting is the identity of the two firms in the top right quadrant (high price, high performance). Ron ' s not saying but has agreed give a copy of professional services guru David Maister's latest book, "Strategy and the Fat Smoker", to the first two people who correctly name either of the two high price/high perfomance firms. Email me, or provide the Burrett contact, please.
