Ag programme raring to celebrate
naughty forties
The International Agriculture Exchange Association (AgriVenture) is entering the naughty forties and it is raring to celebrate.
IAEA’s, more recently branded AgriVenture, New Zealand organisation is keen for a huge party to recognise its 40th birthday and is calling for all those associated with the New Zealand International Agricultural Exchanges to come forward.
“It’s a celebration to renew old friendships and make new friends. We want as many people as possible associated with the programme during its 40 years to help us celebrate in style.”
More than 2000 kiwis have travelled in the programme over the past four decades. Hundreds more have been involved as host families and coordinators.
“We need to spread the word of this celebration far and wide,” organisers said.
Past and present trainees, host families, board members, administration staff and contact people are invited to think about all the great people they have met through the programme to join together in celebration.
Plans for the ‘Naughty Forties’ anniversary are set to take place in Ashburton, just one hour south of Christchurch, from April 3-5 2009.

AgriVenture programmes are run
for young people aged 18-30 years. They are set up to
provide a safe way for young people to travel and work in
rural placements around the world.
Trainees are placed
with host families that have been vetted by and are members
of the organisation.
Participants in the programme have the opportunity to both work and to experience life and culture in another country.
Internationally the IAEA has been running the AgriVenture programme since 1963 with over 30,000 young people travelling with the organisation over the past 44 years.
The programme has fostered lifelong friendships between hosts and trainees and their families and offered invaluable travel and international work opportunities.
