MEDIA RELEASE 4 JUNE 2008

NZ Wine Wins Top International Trophy

Success for Saint Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007

Saint Clair Family Estate continues its trophy-winning streak with its renowned Sauvignon Blanc. The Marlborough based winery has been awarded the Trophy for the Top New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc over £10 at the 2008 Decanter World Wine Awards in London.

The competition is the world’s largest with over 9000 entries and is regarded as one of the toughest annual wine judging events held globally.

Saint Clair’s managing director, Neal Ibbotson says, “Although this is not the first award the Saint Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007 has won, this award holds special significance for us because United Kingdom is not only our largest market, but is also the world’s most competitive wine market. We are delighted that our hard-working team has been recognized at such prestigious awards.”

Saint Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007 has previously won two gold medals and Champion Sauvignon Blanc trophy at the Liquorland Top 100 Wine Competition 2007, has a five-star award from Winestate magazine and a high four-star rating from Cuisine.

Saint Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2007 is available from all good wine outlets and restaurants throughout New Zealand. It has a recommended RRP of $19.95 to $20.95.

Since its founding in 1994, the family-owned and operated winery, Saint Clair Family Estate has proven itself to be an industry leader, not just within the domestic market, but also around the globe.
