Pisa Range judged ‘a rising star’ In UK; 5 stars

PRESS RELEASE – for immediate release

PISA RANGE ESTATE - Judged ‘a rising star’ In UK Receives 5 Star Rating

Pisa Range Estate of Central Otago has received a resounding endorsement from UK based international wine commentator Robert Joseph for its pinot noir. Not only did he give the 2006 Pisa Range Estate “Black Poplar Block” Pinot Noir a 5/5 rating but it was selected in his list of “the very best of New Zealand’s wines by region”.

In his recent article in the UK Daily Telegraph, featuring wine tourism in New Zealand, Robert Joseph suggests that in Central Otago “you’ll find most of this country’s cult pinot noir vineyards” describing Pisa Range Estate as ‘a rising star’ in terms of New Zealand’s top pinot noir producers. This positive review follows hard on the heels of the success of this vintage’s selection from a range of international wines at the recent 2008 UK Sommelier Wine Awards.

“This endorsement from Robert Joseph, who is well known and respected in wine circles around the world is very rewarding” said Pisa Range Estate owner Warwick Hawker. “This review, the selection at the UK Sommelier Wine Award, as well as the wine being listed at restaurants such as Michelin star Glasshouse, Kew, The Hong Kong Club, Hong Kong, Nomi, Chicago suggests the quality of our pinot noir is now becoming internationally recognised” he said.

The 2006 Pisa Range Estate “Black Poplar Block” Pinot Noir is definitely a wine to savour with food. It is available throughout New Zealand from selected restaurants, retail outlets, and via mail order www.pisarangeestate.co.nz .
