Holcim Plant Manager Appointed
24 July 2008 – Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd has this week announced the appointment of Chester Goodson as plant manager at its Westport Cement Works. Former plant manager Chris Dempsey resigned earlier this year to take up a cement management position overseas
Announcing the new appointment General Manager – Cement, Ross Pickworth said “Chester comes to us with a wealth of cement experience. He has spent the last 30 years in a variety of roles within the cement industry in the United States, and already works within the Holcim Group.”
Chester Goodson is currently employed by Holcim US as Manager, Special Projects East Region. In this role he is responsible for working with the seven manufacturing plants in the region to support the development and execution of strategic initiatives. Prior to that, Chester was the Plant Manager at Holly Hill, a 1.8 million tonne capacity Holcim cement manufacturing facility in South Carolina and for five years managed Devil’s Slide, another Holcim cement manufacturing facility in Utah.
Chester Goodson will take up the Westport Plant Manager role on Monday 11 August.
