CDC - Auckland (Creative Digital Content) group formed

The creative digital content industry in Auckland has formally joined forces with its recent incorporation as CDC – Auckland.

CDC - Auckland brings together representatives from the Animation, Gaming, VFX, and Education sectors and has support from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Film Auckland and the Auckland City Council. The CDC - Auckland Committee is headed by President Shona Grundy (Kangoo Animation), Vice President Brent Chambers (Flux Animation Studio), Treasurer Csaba Nehez (Flux Animation Studios), Secretary Cris Casares (La Luna Studios) and Board Members Glen Real (Yukfoo Animation), Cath Fournier (Freelance Animation School) and Cameron Chittock (Sasquatch Productions).

CDC President, Shona Grundy , said “CDC – Auckland has started on a real high with the recent completion of a comprehensive ‘State of the Industry’ report and some highly successful pitching sessions with key US Network Executives in Los Angeles”

The goals of CDC – Auckland are to:

• Promote the Auckland creative digital content industry on an international level.

• Represent our members in discussion and consultation with Government bodies and trade organizations both as CDC - Auckland and in co-ordination with industry associations throughout the country.

• Establish, co-ordinate and host industry local and international events in order to promote, grow and sustain the New Zealand industry.

• Facilitate alignments and associations with other international creative digital content groups.

• Establish an industry presence at international market conferences and events such as Kidscreen, Mipcom, and GDA.

• To act as an advisory board for educators, NZQA and Screen Council.

• To establish a sustainable industry policy for the environment.

• To operate our businesses with integrity, legally and with social conscience.
