Mark Powell Appointed New General Manager at Hirepool

Auckland, 29 July 2008: New Zealand hire equipment leader, Hirepool Limited, has promoted Mark Powell to the position of General Manager. He was previously Commercial Manager.

Mr Powell’s new appointment is part of an organisational restructuring which also sees the appointment of five new Regional Managers.

As part of the re-structure the group business, Rakino Group, has been renamed The New Zealand Rental Group to better reflect the core business activities which now span 84 general and specialist business units across New Zealand. They include cornerstone business Hirepool plus Port-A-Loo, Henderson Rentals, Barricading Solutions, and Castles Marquee Hire.

Mark Powell (42) has almost 20 years industry experience covering engineering, sales, marketing and commercial roles. “Hirepool has established an enviable reputation for operational excellence and high levels of customer responsivity,” says Mark. “My focus will be on taking this to even greater levels.”

“Our goal is to firmly remain recognised as New Zealand’s rental industry leader and we particularly look forward to the continuation of the strong relationship we have developed as Principal Partner of the NZ Contractor’s Federation, with NZCF members throughout the country.”

Mark Powell’s appointment is part of a planned strategy to ensure that Hirepool, together with other New Zealand Rental Group companies, retains its market leading position amid significant economic change in New Zealand. Mark brings a strong focus on sales (rental revenue) and customer service, to a role which will continue to evolve as Hirepool grows.
