Confirmation Via Text Message Proving A Hit
Almost 40% of Southern Cross Travel Insurance customers are opting for notification of their insurance booking by SMS.
It has been 16 months since Southern Cross Travel Insurance (SCTI) launched the option for New Zealanders to receive confirmation that cover is in place by email and SMS to their mobile phone. A successful enhancement to SCTI's offer of receiving quotes and buying insurance online
Southern Cross Travel Insurance Chief Operating Officer, Craig Morrison says the response to this initiative was not only instantaneous but more than met the expectations the business had of what New Zealanders wanted in a communication option.
"Our on-line travel insurance service is a hit, with a huge increase of customers via this service in the past 2 years, so I guess it stands to reason that technology savvy New Zealanders would embrace confirmation of their booking via txt", said Mr Morrison.
Since 28 March 2007, over 38% of all purchasing customers on the Southern Cross TravelCare website have opted to, and received a text message confirming their travel insurance.
