New catering partner for The Trusts Stadium

MEDIA RELEASE

Release date: 5 August 2008

From: Simon Wickham, Chief Executive, The Trusts Stadium

New catering partner for The Trusts Stadium announced

The Trusts Stadium is delighted to announce one of New Zealand’s fastest growing catering and event companies’ Sero (formerly Creative Functions Limited) as the new exclusive caterer for The Trusts Stadium’s indoor arena, conference suites, function rooms and the recently opened Grandstand and lounges.

With more than 11 years of events and hospitality experience Sero bring a wealth of industry knowledge to the award winning Stadium that has already hosted several international events such as the recent World Netball Championships and a number of international music performances including internationally recognised Best Live Act of the Year MUSE and arguably one of the music industry’s most recognised acts Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Sero’s rapid growth earned them recognition by the Deloitte Fast 50 index twice in recent years and this growth was a large part of what appealed to the Stadium’s Trust Board and management.

“The Trusts Stadium’s business has grown considerably since opening in 2004” notes Stadium Chief Executive, Simon Wickham “and we’re delighted to find a new partner that can lead the growth of the Stadium’s function centre even further into the future”.

Sero will take responsibility for catering all functions and events at The Trusts Stadium from September 1 having successfully negotiated with the Stadium and current caterer Bonifant and Saxby Limited.

Sero Chief Executive Warwick Hill-Rennie notes “we had identified the establishment of a long term relationship with a major events centre in Auckland as a key goal and endorsement for our company. The Trusts Stadium is well known for its events and it also has some excellent function spaces that we can develop for existing and new clients that need high quality function and conference facilities in Auckland”.
The Stadium and function clients will also undoubtedly also benefit from Sero’s experience in the events business having successfully produced events for many of Auckland’s leading corporate clients through their Floating Pavilion base in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour and their present West Auckland venue Carringtons.

“The ability for Sero to offer so much more than just food and beverage services will be a real plus for function clients” notes Wickham. “More and more clients are looking for an event company that can manage all aspects of their functions to create unique inspiring occasions. Sero has an impressive track history and a shared passion for excellence that combined with our unique range of venues will make everything from a business product launch to a large scale dinner possible at our award winning venue”.
