Express Couriers winner in Sustainable Business

Express Couriers named 2008 winner of the Sustainable Business Networks Awards, in the emerging large business category

The Northern Region celebrated the best sustainability achievements amongst its members with the 2008 Northern Region SBN Awards, held on August 28th in Auckland.

Accolades celebrated businesses in many categories demonstrating environmental leadership through their sustainability achievements.

This year, Express Couriers were the emerging large business category winners and were recognised for their commitment to embracing sustainable practices within the organisation.

Express Couriers through its brands CourierPost, Pace, Contract Logistics and Roadstar have launched industry firsts such as environmental packaging and recycling programs in which proceeds from the sale of the returned and recycled materials are donated to charities.

Express Couriers has attributed their win to integrating social, cultural and environmental management into their day-to-day courier, logistics and warehousing operations.

Jim Quinn, CEO of Express Couriers is delighted with the acknowledgement from the SBN and with the achievements of the organisation. “I’m proud of the team’s commitment to sustainable practice and that Express Couriers are recognised for doing our bit when it comes to taking care of our environment”
