Local North Canterbury Business Grows
With the onslaught of
impending doom and gloom, through an alleged nationwide
recession, a local Kaiapoi business has chosen to swim
upstream and against the current.
In a time where redundancies are rampant, belts are being tightened and faces of many business owners are grim at best, Brent and Jackie Atkins of Just School Furniture Limited have chosen to expand business operations and take on dedicated business premises in their home town of Kaiapoi, North Canterbury. Clayton Cosgrove, MP for Small Business has agreed to open their Cosgrove Street premises at their function in October.
Just School Furniture started 15 years ago as a manufacturer or school desks and chairs then 2 years later went more into marketing and sales of the wider furniture requirements for schools. All this time business was conducted out of a home office, common to many kiwi small businesses.
With more products came more clients, then more staff until finally the decision was made to buy and move into their own commercial premises. This helps maintain a healthy work / home life balance says Brent Atkins. We wanted to stay local and be close to the children after school, so our offices are just a short brisk walk away from home says Jackie Atkins.
Just School Furniture Ltd is Kaiapoi based and services the entire South Island as well as some schools in the North Island. Clients range from Early Childhood and Primary Schools through to Secondary Schools and Tertiary educators. If a learning establishment needs it then JSF most likely has it (or will source it for you). The company and all employees live by the company motto; “Nothing’s a problem”
Ensuring the best quality, affordable products means that JSF helps enrich the child’s learning and with the recent expansion into their own commercial premises they are proud to be part of the function of furthering education in New Zealand. Attention to sourcing NZ made where ever possible is good for the local economy and a product line of refurbished stock ensures an eye for the green conscious also.
