Jane Iredale on the Verge…

For immediate release

When the models hit the runway on the 17th September in this year’s Verge Breakthrough Designer Show at Air New Zealand Fashion Week, their stunning makeup will be courteous of Jane Iredale – the Skincare Makeup.

Over recent years, the Verge Breakthrough shows have served as a launching pad for some of New Zealand’s top labels including Cybele, Helen Talbot, Pearl, James & August, Widdess and Michael Pattison.

This year sees exciting new labels Michelle Yvette, Sable & Minx, Deuchar, Emma Wallace and Ana Steele take to the catwalk in front of international buyers and media.

Sales and Marketing Manager for Professional Skin & Beauty, Michelle Woodyard says, ‘We are delighted to be able to show the versatility of the Jane Iredale Skincare Makeup for the Verge Breakthrough Show. Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics has a strong following amongst International Make Up artists and is used extensively on film, television and high fashion runway. The adaptability of the minerals allows our accomplished team of makeup artists to successfully deliver a high fashion look, with the added advantage of the products being beneficial to the skin.”

Fashion Week veteran and well known makeup artist Nikki Lovrich heads the Jane Iredale team of some of NZ’s most well known makeup artists. Nikki is well known for her flawless, beautiful makeup and has been part of ANZFW since 2001, heading the makeup teams backstage and creating specialised looks for many of NZ’s top designers. She is also the on-screen makeup expert for 10 Years Younger. For the Verge show, Nikki has designed a high fashion glamour look with smoldering eyes and barely there lips, which is a modern take on the 1950’s. Nikki loves the brand’s philosphy. “The Jane Iredale brand is all about modern, high fashion makeup that is actually good for the skin. The models are under extremely pressured conditions all day, with fast changes and very hot lighting which can wreak havoc – the Jane Iredale makeup is like a wonder balm. Not only does it look gorgeous but the minerals allow the skin to breathe and function normally.”

Also among the makeup artists creating their magic on the day will be one very excited winner of the recently judged Jane Iredale Photographic Competition, Katie Elliott from Essentially Skin in Whangarei, whose prize pack includes working as part of the Fashion Week Makeup Team. PSB's Product Manager/Make-up Artist Cheryl Byrne said, "This is a great opportunity for Katie – it gives her a chance to hone her skills on this amazing international event, which is not an opportunity that comes along every day. I think she is going to be in for an exciting time on the 17th.”
