Distance Learning Accounts Course Is Expecting Big Numbers
Learning Post Ltd, who specialises in distance learning with a focus on business administration and computing skills, has recently launched a highly anticipated new accounts course tailored to the growing numbers of self-employed business owners and those needing to return to work for financial reasons.
The Certificate in Practical Accounting (Level 4) can be completed full-time over 32 weeks or part-time over 52 weeks and provides the skills and understanding needed for employment in an accounts clerk position or to manage the accounts side of an individual’s own business. The course is also ideal as a stepping stone toward further studies in accounting and is completed entirely through distance learning.
Over recent years, the cost of petrol and general living expenses has contributed to a steady increase in self-employment numbers along with an increase in of primary caregivers, particularly mums, returning to paid employment. As a result, there has also been a marked increase in the demand for qualification programmes through distance learning.
Sorya Virak, Learning Post’s Marketing & Development Manager says that the combination of being able to gain practical accounting skills without having to meet the extra costs and time involved with travel makes the course ideal for those who need to juggle study with work or childcare commitments.
“We’ve had regular enquiries from two distinct groups of customers. The first is self-employed business owners who need to master the accounts side of their business, or want a staff member to be formally trained in accounting principles. The other group is those who are planning to begin work in an accounts role and want to gain the full set of skills and qualifications to secure good employment,” says Virak.
The Certificate in Practical Accounting is a comprehensive course that covers all aspects of accounts skills including tax preparation, trial balancing, MYOB use, employment relations and financial skills and more.
Learning Post Ltd, located on Auckland’s North Shore, was established in 1997 and offers students the opportunity to learn from their home, workplace or anywhere that suits at their own pace. All qualification programmes are NZQA registered and accredited and range from certificates through to Level 5 Diplomas. Each student has access to their own dedicated tutor who offers support, guidance and motivation throughout the period of study. Those interesting in pursuing study through Learning Post are invited to visit www.learningpost.ac.nz or call toll-free on 0800 895 895.
