Southern Cross Supports
Government Scheme
Southern Cross Building Society has
applied to join the Government’s new deposit guarantee
scheme.
Bob Smith, CEO of the society said today: “We were very pleased to apply to the scheme and offer this further reassurance to our customers that their deposits are safe in these uncertain times.
“The guarantee sends an important signal to all New Zealanders that our banking system is fundamentally sound” he said.
New Zealand now joins most of the developed countries in the world in offering a deposit guarantee schemes.
