Soljans Celebrate Budburst At Labour Weekend

Soljans Celebrate Budburst At Labour Weekend

Lovers of fine food and wine are invited to celebrate Budburst this Labour Weekend at Soljans Estate Wines in Kumeu Wine Country.

Spring is in full flight and Labour weekend is not complete without Soljan’s annual Budburst celebration. Celebrations will include the launch of the stunnning new seasonal menu by chef Paul Reid which he has created to match new wine releases, including 2008 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, 2007 Marlborough Riesling and the inaugural 2008 Kumeu Pinot Gris. Out of heaven's kitchen will come unforgettable dishes such as Pinotage infused grapevine smoked salmon, stir fried ox tongue, baked lamb rack, scallops wrapped in bacon and a Vintner's platter that has too many gorgeous foods to list here. Of course it wouldn't be a true Labour weekend celebration without music, and guitarist Guenther Fischer will be playing all the right notes on both Sunday 26th and Monday 27th. The Café is open 9am-3pm all weekend.

The Cellar shop is open 9am-5.30pm offering complementary tastings of all new releases and has some mind blowing specials on spring wines!

On the functions front, wine tastings, Christmas lunch and dinner functions for staff parties are booking fast. Weddings and conferences are also warmly welcomed.

So, the weather is slowly improving, we’re all enjoying daylight savings and Soljans is humming in spring time. Drop in for a game of petanque, enjoy a glass of Fusion while while the kids are entertained in the playgrounds…ah bliss…see you there.
