Fairfax Acquires Lifestyle Block

Fairfax Media has purchased New Zealand Lifestyle Block magazine from ACP Media for an undisclosed sum.

Readers will see the change taking effect from the December issue when the Fairfax magazine Growing Today and its new stable mate will be published as one title.

Lynley Belton general manager of Fairfax Magazines says the company is delighted to acquire Lifestyle Block magazine, which has undergone lots of changes in recent months.

Belton says when the opportunity presented itself to purchase a competitor of Growing Today, the decision was made to grab it with both hands. "Our commitment is to build an enviable portfolio of leading lifestyle titles. The combined strength of Lifestyle Block and Growing Today gives us an undisputed authority in the lifestyle farming arena and fits well in our stable of lifestyle mastheads.

Growing Today editor Nadene Hall will edit the new integrated title which will carry dual mastheads when it is published as a monthly in December.

The new combined magazine will be the leading title in its category dedicated to providing practical information on all aspects of rural living to those living or dreaming of moving to a lifestyle block.
