Tenants can pay for rent using their credit card

Press Release: RentExpress allows Tenants to pay for rent using their credit card.

Established this year, RentExpress allows tenants to pay for their rent online at www.rentexpress.co.nz

The service is secure, fast, convenient and easy to use. ‘We started RentExpress after a considerable amount of research in to the industry, including the 2003 National Landlords Survey which found that, 86.6% of all Landlords claimed non payment of rent as their biggest concern’.

We also found that the payment options for Tenants was fragmented with options ranging from the most favourable being Automatic Payments through to cash and cheque. However, no one was offering a secure and convenient credit card payment option.

At RentExpress, Tenants can register their details for free, enter the property and landlord details and select the option of either making a one off payment or setting up a recurring payment schedule from their credit card. All of this can be done in a matter of minutes. RentExpress provides full reporting on all payments made and can be accessed securely 24 hours a day.

The service is free for both Landlords and Property Managers. Tenants are charged a small convenience fee to use the service which is calculated as a percentage of the total rent amount being paid.

The concept is not a new one with many organisations globally offering credit card payment platforms for tenants. RentExpress however, is the first organisation in New Zealand to introduce the concept.

In New Zealand 80% of the rental properties are managed privately by mum and dad Landlords so the service is really appealing for them as it offers them a credit card payment solution that is free, robust and very easy for their tenants to use. It would be unrealistic and cost prohibitive for a private landlord to get a merchant account to accept credit card payments, this is one important area where RentExpress adds considerable value.

It’s an ideal solution for tenants that may wish to take advantage of interest free periods and additionally earn extra reward points and Airpoints in the process.

As an introductory offer we are running a competition over next month for new registered users to go in the draw to win a 3G iPhone or have their rent paid for a month. Visit us now at www.rentexpress.co.nz
