Serious Fun first whitewater boarding operator to achieve Qualmark®

Queenstown based tourism operator Serious Fun Riversurfing is the first whitewater boarding company in the country to achieve Qualmark®, New Zealand tourism’s official mark of quality.

Neil Harrison, general manager of Serious Fun Riversurfing, said the achievement reinforced his company’s position as an industry leader.

“We’ve been providing a world class experience on the Kawarau River in Queenstown for 20 years now. It’s great to be officially recognized as a quality operator,” he said.

Businesses carrying Qualmark® have been independently assessed as professional and trustworthy, so visitors can book and buy with confidence. The quality mark is part of New Zealand’s national tourism strategy to make it easy for visitors to find and enjoy world class experiences in New Zealand.

Mr Harrison said it gave his customers the extra assurance that they were going to experience an activity of the highest standard.

“We have a great crew of dedicated and experienced river guides that take pride in offering the most exhilarating experience possible. We also have a 100% safety record and offer the longest Grade 4 rapid river surfing experience in New Zealand.”

Serious Fun River Surfing is the only operation of its type which has a family and child-friendly approach – every child aged 8 to 12 enjoys their own dedicated personal river guide.

“Qualmark® recognises that we have the best possible systems in place to provide a safe and exciting activity,” said Mr Harrison.

Serious Fun River Surfing recently acquired Frogz White Water Sledging and is now the only operator in New Zealand to provide a choice of riversurfing and whitewater sledging trips.
