Speight’s Ale House opens in Palmerston North

Palmerston North locals can now savour a pint of their favourite Speight’s beer in their very own Speight’s Ale House, which will be officially opened on Wednesday 19 November, offering a taste of true Speight’s-style hospitality in Palmerston North.

Located in the heart of the city, at 27 Grey Street, the new building reflects elements of the original Speight’s Brewery in Dunedin and incorporates schist features, a kauri bar top and impressive fireplace.  Back in the 1930’s, the site was home to Eclipse Wire.  The transformation to a Speight’s Ale House will ensure it continues to command its place in local history and in the hearts (and stomachs) of locals.

New owners, Tim and Bernice Adlam have made the move north from the very successful Tower Junction Speight’s Ale House in Christchurch to bring the unique Speight’s Ale House proposition to Palmerston North.  “We’re looking forward to offering the town a place where they can come together with friends, enjoy a great pint and some true Speight’s-style hospitality,” says Adlam.

With the full Speight’s craft range on tap, including the new Speight’s Summit Golden Lager, you can be sure to find the perfect Speight’s beer for you at the Ale House.   The menu offers a great selection of quality, hearty kiwi-style fare, and all meals are matched to the Speight’s beers on offer.

Trading seven days a week from 11am to 3am daily, whether it is for a quick lunch with workmates (the Speight’s team can have the meals ready for you on arrival if you fax your order through before 11.30 am for lunch and 4.30 pm for dinner), a leisurely meal in the evening with the family, or for a function, there are so many reasons to stop in.

The Palmerston North Speight’s Ale House will be open to the public from Thursday 20th November.
