Norfolk Island glossy
Norfolk Island has a new glossy lifestyle magazine extolling the virtues of the South Pacific destination.
‘2899 Magazine’ is designed to showcase the wonderful facets of life in sub-tropical Norfolk Island. It is published three times a year.
The inaugural issue out on January 1 features stories about the 2008 Norfolk Island Tourism Awards, island artists and food and takes a look inside Devon House, one of the beautiful island homes.
While editor Robin Nisbet is a Norfolk Island ‘immigrant’, all the articles in the inaugural issue have been written by locals. He plans to include articles by offshore contributors in future issues.
“2899 Magazine is my way of beginning to encapsulate the essence of the island,” Nisbet says. “It is a celebration of Norfolk Island and its people yesterday, today and tomorrow.”
2899 Magazine gets its name from the island’s international postcode. It retails for A$9.95 from the Visitors Information Centre and selected retailers.
Nisbet encourages visitors to share their experiences of Norfolk Island by emailing their thoughts to 2899@ni.net.nf from where copies of the magazine can also be ordered by overseas subscribers.
