Hot Rod Car For Charity

Media Release

Date: Monday, 2nd February, 2009

The Interface Financial Group Helps Specialist Car Company, Custom Rods, Build Hot Rod Car For Charity

Custom Rods, a South Auckland based company which specialises in creating premium quality, bespoke cars, has turned to invoice discounting to help build a unique Hot Rod car. The car is being raffled off with all proceeds going to the charity, Phobic Trust of New Zealand Inc.

When Custom Rods needed some extra assistance with their cash flow to complete the specially built ’37 Coupé, their bank suggested getting in touch with The Interface Financial Group, the country’s largest alternative funding source for small businesses.

‘There was a gap between paying for the car parts and the raffle tickets going on sale, which was tricky in terms of cash flow,’ explains Garth Nielsen, Sales Director at Custom Rods.

‘Having access to an invoice discounting service has allowed us to finish the car quickly and on budget. Our South Auckland Interface contact, Laurie Lowther, tailored everything to our own individual situation and the service was much more flexible than other kinds of facilities.’

Garth is thrilled that Custom Rods has been able to make a contribution to the Phobic Trust of New Zealand:

‘We chose to raffle off a Hot Rod car for charity as we felt it would catch the public’s attention and raise awareness of the fabulous work that the Phobic Trust of New Zealand does,’ says Garth. ‘We also thought that it would be an effective way of getting the charity in front of the audiences it really needs to reach- such as individuals that are suffering from anxiety disorders.’
