Craig Manson, Managing Director of Canon New Zealand has been appointed to the position of Senior General Manager, Marketing of Canon Australia.
This newly created position signals the start of a new phase in the company’s transformation, which started in late 2007, toward a more customer and channel focused business model. The current work also reflects an aggressive market strategy for growth by harnessing Canon’s unique and broad range of technology solutions.
“We are trading well and forecast ongoing profit across Oceania in 2009,” said Mr Kobayashi, Managing Director of Canon Australia and Chairman of Canon Oceania. “We will be realigning our business and consumer divisions to help us enhance service levels for customers and deliver a broader range of offerings from across Canon.”
“We are focused on growth and building a platform for long-term success,” said Craig. “We have conducted extensive customer research that highlights significant opportunities for us in New Zealand and Australia, despite the tough economic conditions. In fact, many of our technologies and services are in greater demand with our business and consumer customers. We need to take advantage of that by putting the correct business model in place.”
Craig will continue in his role as Managing Director of Canon New Zealand until April 1st 2009, when he will relocate to Sydney and focus on his new marketing role. During this time Canon Oceania will be searching to fill the leadership role in Canon New Zealand.
