The Risk List – Business Risk and Opportunity

Registrations are now being taken for this year’s exciting annual business women’s regional conference to be held here in Tauranga on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 May. The conference attracts 200 business women from around the region, with more and more aware of the conference from out of the area. Once again the conference will be held at The Sebel, Trinity Wharf.

The 2009 conference continues with the same family of sponsors, which is confirmation of the success of the conference. The successful format has been retained with both local and national speakers inspiring women from throughout the region and beyond. We have secured 3 keynote speakers and there will be many more concurrent sessions on different topics, something for everyone, either already in business or contemplating the next step.

The conference committee have been lucky enough to secure a great line up of speakers both keynote and specialist speakers. This year’s keynote speakers are:

Philippa Barriball – Mayor Thames-Coromandel District Council
Hon. Paula Bennett, Minister for Social Development
Aaron Rink – Managing Director C.F. Reece Plumbing
Jo Morgan – Adventurer, mother, Grandmother

The conference will be running two concurrent sessions one with a focus on business, the other with a focus on you. The business stream will focus on “how too’s” and the you stream will focus on the inspirational stories of successful women in business. One of those sessions with be run by Galia Barhava-Monteith from Professionelle on the Imposter Syndrome, something apparently we all suffer from.

People attending will hear two local successes stories of women in business, one from Angela Crosbie from Hot Milk and Meghan Bowker and Lee Klienman from Repertoire. Both very successful and award winning businesses.

Taking the theme of the conference “The Risk List – Business risk and opportunity” the business stream will be around managing and seeing opportunity in risk, a series of accountants, lawyers and financial analysts will take these streams.
