Prolife Foods Appoints Andrew Smith As CEO

Prolife Foods Ltd is delighted to announce the appointment of Andrew Smith to the role of CEO, effective 2 March, 2009.

Andrew joins Prolife Foods from Fonterra Brands New Zealand where he was general manager – marketing with responsibility for innovation, new product development and marketing.

“We’re delighted that Andrew Smith is joining us to lead the team and optimise Prolife Food’s self-service offering of bulk foods in supermarkets and develop our recently acquired Mother Earth brand,” says Bernie Crosby, owner of Prolife Foods Ltd.

A Rhodes Scholar, and a Hamilton old boy, Andrew brings with him more than 16 years experience in the consumer and grocery market having worked in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand for companies including Meadow Fresh, Unilever and Procter and Gamble.

Prolife Foods’ founder and owner, Bernie Crosby will be stepping down from his managing director role but will continue to be involved in the business in his capacity as owner, director and board member.

“Andrew has an intimate knowledge of the grocery channel and experience developing brands which will serve our Mother Earth brand well” says Bernie Crosby.
