Helping hand for businesses facing challenges
Helping hand for businesses facing challenges
A central Regional Employment Summit on Monday April 6th is to provide a key opportunity for business owners to access information to help them get through challenging economic times.
Vision Manawatu’s acting chief executive Elaine Reilly, says there are many steps a business can take now and there will be a wealth of business support and service experts at the summit to offer a helping hand.
“There are many creative options available to employers and there will be the right advice available based on individual employers business needs.
“It’s also the chance to raise specific issues that are affecting businesses. This input will help prioritise response packages at a local level and will feed back into government services providers based across the region.
“Government leaders would become aware of what is being faced by business operators in the provinces.”
Guest speaker Dr Ganesh Nana, from BERL, will give a regional update on economic conditions.
Elaine said most media stories about the economy are based on international and national pictures rather than local factors, and business owners need to know the features of the regional economy in order to respond rather than react.
Businesses across Manawatu, Tararua, Kapiti, Horowhenua and Wairarapa are being invited to the Regional Employment Summit with post-event follow-up sessions being planned.
