Women use social networking to collaborate in
business
Women across the world are using social networking sites to collaborate and build their businesses.
Four business women from opposite sides of the globe have joined forces on a fabulous new joint venture for the month of April 2009 to benefit both their businesses and those of the companies that support them.
Louise Donnelly-Davey of Skout and Kids Product Directory , Jodi Mitchell of Baby Bites, Amanda Haines of Style Collective, and Janah Trent of Tot Trends Weekly met on a social networking site a few months ago.
All women are keen users of Twitter and Facebook, amongst others, and have always been well aware of the huge power associated with social networking.
The site they met on was Skout Trade Fair, a social network set up by Louise Donnelly-Davey to support businesses in the baby and children’s industry around the world, which has successfully brought together like-minded individuals intent on using social networking to gain exposure, grow their business, collaborate and share business advice.
The business venture
In order to boost traffic to their websites and gain exposure for both themselves and supporting companies, the women involved have teamed up to create the Fabulous 5K Giveaway.
With participants required to visit all four websites to gain the information required to enter, their businesses should benefit from increased traffic and international exposure from each others databases, with supporting companies also benefiting with exposure from markets that are otherwise hard to tap into.
As well as promoting to their databases, they will use various social networking tools to spread the word wide and far.
There are three prize packs involved, each being valued in excess of $1800 AUD. Residents of USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand are eligible to enter. http://www.babybites.co.nz/competition%20details/April09Fab5KGiveaway.
