Citylink Gives Thumbs Up To Govt Broadband Investment Strategy
Today’s announcement by Communications Minister Steven Joyce outlining the Governments broadband strategy, has been welcomed by CityLink CEO Neil de Wit.
CityLink provides dedicated fibre services and PublicLAN Broadband to Wellington business & Government giving customers the simplest & fastest broadband networking.
“We were hoping for something visionary and bold and the government has certainly done that,” says CityLink CEO Neil de Wit.
“We are enthusiastic about this proposal and CityLink is well placed to deliver on key elements of the government’s strategy in the Wellington region.
“This strategy gives the government the opportunity to further develop the type of open access ecosystems (multiple service provider choices across a common fibre infrastructure) that Wellington business has enjoyed for many years.
CityLink is a long-term investor in open access fibre and we applaud the Government for showing common sense in this complex area with many and varied competing interests.
“We were hoping for a level playing field and that’s what Steven Joyce has delivered.” says Mr de Wit.
