ARTA Media Release
1 April 2009

‘Somebody Told Me’ to travel with MAXX to see The Killers at Vector Arena

On Wednesday 8 April, The Killers fans heading to Vector Arena to see the Las Vegas-born band on the Auckland leg of their world tour can use public transport to travel with ease to and from the concert.

Vector Arena is approximately 10 minutes walk from the Britomart Transport Centre and the Downtown Ferry Terminal. A regular timetable will be operating for all buses, trains and ferries travelling to Britomart.

The Link bus, which stops on Beach Road close to Vector Arena, is a good way to get to the show. Passengers can catch The Link from various locations around the CBD, Parnell, Newmarket, Karangahape Road and Ponsonby. The cash fare is $1.60 one way.

Fans are advised to allow plenty of time to get to Vector Arena in time for the start of the show.

Additional train services will be operating to take fans home after the performance. On the Southern Line, a train will depart Britomart for Otahuhu (via Newmarket South and Ellerslie) at 11.40pm and on the Eastern Line a train will depart Britomart for Papakura (via Glen Innes and Sylvia Park) at 11.45pm.

An additional ferry service will depart from Downtown for Devonport at 11.30pm. In order to run this additional service, the timetabled service from Devonport to Auckland will depart fifteen minutes ahead of schedule at 11.15pm instead of 11.30pm.

An additional Northern Express bus service will also be in operation to take fans home to the North Shore following the gig. It will depart from Britomart for Albany at 11.45pm, travelling via all Northern Busway stations.

Normal bus, train and ferry fares will apply.

For more information about public transport services to and from the The Killers concert please call MAXX on (09) 366 6400 or visit www.maxx.co.nz
