Century Yuasa secure naming rights to Hot Rod Comp

Century Yuasa Batteries secure naming rights to NZHRA Street Rod Nationals

NEW ZEALAND, Rotorua – CenturyYuasa, the largest supplier of stored energy solutions in New Zealand has come on board with the Sulphur City Rod & Custom Club (Rotorua) and the New Zealand Hot Rod Association to bring you the 2009 CenturyYuasa Batteries NZHRA Street Rod
Nationals.

The Sulphur City Rod & Custom Club is no stranger to hosting successful events having organised the 1999 Pre 49 Street Rod Nationals and then the 2004 Street Rod Nationals. Both events are remembered for the high entrant numbers, slick organisation and large public show days. The club and its members bring a wealth of event promotion knowledge to the 2009 event held at the Blue Lake Holiday Park on November 6-9.

Together with the club’s knowledge and the new direction that Commercial Development Manager for NZHRA, John Deely is steering the New Zealand Hot Rod Association, the alliance with Century Yuasa Batteries is a perfect fit for the professionalism that all parties have to offer the event.

For some time now CenturyYuasa have enjoyed what has become a fairly longstanding involvement in Motorsport. Through their sponsorship of Drag Racing, Speedway, NZV8’s, and even Soap Box Derby the team at CenturyYuasa continue to take great pleasure in supporting these various sports. But they are also heavily involved in car enthusiast events including the Kumeu Classic Car and Hot Rod Show, Beach Hop, Hot Rod Nationals, and now the Street Rod Nationals.
