Crowds Boost Sales and Relationships

Crowds Boost Sales and Relationships
New Zealand’s one and only crowd sourcing business InviteMe, the brainchild of young entrepreneur Jussara Bierman, was launched before a crowd of over 120 in Auckland on 21 May 2009. InviteMe, based on the rent a crowd concept, has grown in leaps and bounds since it’s founding earlier this year. The idea initially was to provide a means to reignite failing bars and restaurants, by providing people - in the immortal words of Heidi Klum “one week you’re in, the next week you’re out” – and bars and restaurants constantly fall victim to the next big thing. “We all know that crowds attract crowds, and poor attendance at a bar or restaurant equates to it not being that great, whether it’s true or not”, Jussara says. Quite simply, crowds create a buzz and this can be the best method for businesses to promote their brand.
In the development of the InviteMe database, now close to 1000 members, many registrants commented that they would love the opportunity to go to things, that life in Auckland can be socially isolating, and that the reliance on texting and online social networking sites was denying them the opportunity to meet new people in the flesh. This identified that social interaction and marketing were not mutually exclusive, but could be beneficial to both members and clients.
The InviteMe members come from across the demographic spectrum – people of all ages and from all walks of life, and what they have in common is that they have put their hands up to be invited to events and activities. The InviteMe members will not only boost numbers, but they are also potential customers and advocates for clients’ products and services.
As consumers get tougher and wiser, companies around the world are using innovative techniques to gain a bigger stake in the market. Access to people is at a premium and it is the crux of a successful marketing effort. InviteMe is here to help.
