Double Honours for Family-Friendly Club Med Resorts

Auckland, 2 June 2009 – Child-friendly Club Med has been acknowledged in a survey of 638,000 Holidays with Kids magazine readers to be among the top 10 Resorts for Kids.

Club Med Lindeman Island in the Whitsundays placed second in the under 4-star category and Club Med Bali placed second in the top Asian Resort category.

“This is a fantastic endorsement for our resorts as Club Med places great value on our younger guests.  We were the first to invent Kids Clubs in 1967 and have continued to led the way with purpose built facilities and  tailored programmes for the different age groups ranging from 2-17yrs,” explains Kaarin Gaukrodger, Club Med Marketing Manager New Zealand. “Families sacrifice day-to-day pleasures for that dream holiday and we want to ensure everyone is catered for and they leave our resorts with happy memories to last a lifetime.”

Club Med Lindeman Island, Whitsundays, QLD is Australia's only Club Med resort. There are several kids' clubs to keep every age group occupied, as well as activities such as water sports, golf, guided walks — even a circus school! Under-fours are supervised during outdoor play and nap times, while the older kids are invited to join dance lessons, artistic workshops, group sporting challenges and sailing among other activities.

Newly renovated to capture the serene essence of Bali, Club Med Bali, Nusa Dua, is one of Club Med’s most beautiful resorts, with pools of water lilies, Balinese-style bungalows, and a palm-lined beach. Club Med’s all-inclusive packages include kids’ club activities for all ages, a circus school and flying trapeze.

Each resort was scored on facilities and activities for children, the quality of childcare and babysitting services, the standard of accommodation, the location, value for money and the overall experience.

The list is a great indication of what families are looking for in their travel experiences. Clearly, it’s the simple things in life that still matter — sun, sand and surf. But newcomers to the list, particularly in Asia, show that many families are seeking out something more exotic, looking for unique cultural and environmental experiences which they can’t have anywhere else.

Whether families are looking for sun and surf, or more exotic themes, Club Med has something for everyone and has been offering its famous all-inclusive deal since 1950 in classic destinations around the globe.

With many stressed-out parents claiming that holidaying with their kids is more stressful than being at work, Club Med is helping reverse that trend by offering all-inclusive deals to relieve budget-stress and plenty of activities to make sure that holiday boredom is no longer an option!
