CITY CARE
STRENGTHENS PARTNERSHIP WITH MANUKAU WATER
Following a procurement process completed earlier this year, national contracting company, City Care Ltd (City Care), has successfully retained the utilities maintenance contract it has held with Manukau Water Ltd (Manukau Water) since July 2007.
Raveen Jaduram, Chief Executive of Manukau Water says, “City Care retained the contract based on their proven performance and ability to deliver innovative, value-added services. City Care will now play an integral role in assisting Manukau Water to develop a new industry-leading contract model to achieve our vision of being a world class water and wastewater company.”
Contract works cover emergency and planned response, operations and maintenance services for Manukau Water’s water supply, wastewater and stormwater network and pump station assets, as well as operational assistance with treatment plant facilities. The contract also covers monitoring, management and emergency response services to the SCADA telemetry system deployed within Manukau Water’s pump station assets.
These networks collectively service a total population of 338,000 people, covering 95,000 residential properties and more than 5,000 businesses.
“City Care and Manukau Water have built a strong relationship over recent years,” says Onno Mulder, City Care’s Chief Executive. “We are delighted to be able to continue this partnership, providing excellent customer service to the Manukau City community.”
The contract has been awarded for a five year term from 1 July 2009 and City Care has approximately 50 staff employed on operations.
