Au Pair Link wins Best New Business of the year

Press Release: Au Pair Link

Au Pair Link wins Best New Business of the year 2009

Swedish born young entrepreneur Cecilia Robinson won the Bloom Her Business Best New Business of the year 2009 award on Wednesday 24th of June. The judges’ recognised the innovative new service which Cecilia’s company Au Pair Link provides; the goal orientated management as well as their impressive growth in the market.

While Cecilia is thrilled to be recognised by her peers she says “It has not been an easy ride”. Managing a company from a young age has been hard, and Cecilia feels that she has been battling the three stigmas; being a woman, being a foreigner and being in her early 20s! Cecilia also states that “running a successful company definitely comes at a price”, not only are Cecilia and her husband working long hours – most weekends are dedicated to the business and the couple have yet to go on their honeymoon, have postponed their plans to purchase a house and are delaying starting a family. However, Cecilia is dedicated to her company and states that she “eats, drinks and dreams Au Pair Link”. Cecilia says that “people are listening; we now have loyal clients who want an Au Pair and that is a fantastic feeling”.

Au Pair Link is based on the European and American model of an Au Pair agency. It has grown in leaps and bounds since its inception in April 2007. On April 1, 2009, Au Pair Link became the first Au Pair agency in New Zealand to become licensed by the Ministry of Education. This was a huge achievement for Cecilia and more importantly for her clients, “For our families this means that they are now accessing an educational curriculum through in-home childcare at a fantastic price”, Cecilia says. “In the current market, parents are looking for alternative and cost-effective ways of returning to the workforce and the fact of the matter is that most parents can’t afford to spend $100s of dollars a week of childcare – through having an Au Pair parents are getting the best of both worlds, fantastic educational childcare at an amazing price”.

Cecilia has key goals to achieve before the end of the year and it is this demonstrated commitment and drive that has led to Au Pair Link winning the Bloom Her Business Best New Business of the year award.
