Business NZ welcomes new Envirostep tool
Envirostep – a business environmental assessment tool launched today by Commerce Minister Simon Power – comes at an opportune time for business.
Improving the competitiveness of New Zealand businesses matters now more than ever if we’re to raise our economic performance, says Business NZ Chief Executive Phil O’Reilly.
“Environmental responsibility is a growing business need worldwide, no matter what state the economy is in,”Mr O’Reilly said.
“No business, large or small can afford to be without sound environmental practices. Up until now, there’s been a gap in the market for environmental assessment tools financially and technically accessible to New Zealand small businesses.
“For these businesses, Envirostep is a good step towards being able to meet more stringent ‘green’ standards that are likely to emerge internationally in the future.”
