Design of assessment system for financial advisers

17 July 2009

Moving forward in the design of an assessment system for financial advisers

ETITO is pleased to have entered into an agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development [MED] to undertake some preparatory investigation into the development of an assessment system to support the National Certificate in Financial Services [Financial Advice] [Level 5].

ETITO’s work comes ahead of the appointment of a code committee, which is being established to produce a draft of the Code of Professional Conduct for authorised financial advisers under the Financial Advisers Act 2008. The work will focus on determining how best to assess the Level 5 National Certificate.

The National Certificate in Financial Services [Financial Advice] [Level 5] has been registered on the National Qualifications Framework. It was developed in partnership between representatives of the financial services industry and ETITO as the financial services industry training organisation under the Industry Training Act 1992.

Over the coming weeks, ETITO will be collecting information from industry and tertiary sector stakeholders that will inform the design of the assessment system for this Level 5 qualification.
