Communicate IT Appoints Kate Macnamara

Communicate IT Limited, the Christchurch based specialist technology PR agency, has appointed Kate Macnamara as PR Consultant.

The agency, which primarily serves the innovation and export sectors, has expanded its team as a part of a new business development initiative.

Macnamara, previously PR Group Account Director for the business-to-business division at Gyro HSR in the UK, one of the largest integrated marketing agencies in Europe, will provide strategic and operational support to the existing Communicate IT client base, and together with Director Shelley Grell, will seek to convert the pipeline of new business the agency has developed. Prior to joining Gyro HSR, Macnamara was International Marketing Manager at Galleria Retail Technology Solutions (RTS), Ltd, a retail software vendor with headquarters in the UK and US, having moved client side following her position as PR Account Manager at UK based marketing communications agency MC2.

Grell explains: “We are working with a number of clients who, despite the downturn, are achieving growth through innovative software solutions and international expansion. Bringing Kate on board will allow me to further develop the international PR opportunities that are opening up for our existing clients, as well as putting together new programmes for the referral business we are generating.”

Macnamara says of her appointment: “Communicate IT has an enviable reputation and as a niche market leader, is performing well in a tough marketplace. With robust clients in the technology and ICT sectors, it gives me the opportunity to apply my expertise gained in these industries, as well as using my international experience to help New Zealand businesses tap into new markets.”

Macnamara has previously worked on campaigns including the US market entry and product launch for Galleria RTS, thought-leadership and profile raising programmes for major UK professional services providers and international media relations projects working with high profile global TV, online and print media.
