Real Groover Joins Music Mag
One-time Mocker and professional musician Paul Lightfoot has joined Real Groove magazine as Brand Manager.
Lightfoot is also no stranger to the media world, having worked most recently as advertising manager on Management mag, and, before that, in similar roles on Metro and at Prime television and TRN.
“I’ve been a huge fan of Real Groove for years now. It’s really the best local publication for anyone who’s serious about music . The editorial is passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and I look forward to being able to combine work and pleasure in such an integrated fashion for the first time in my life.”
Real Groove editor Duncan Greive is equally positive. “Within minutes of meeting Paul, I was sold. When you’re an editor, plenty of people tell you they love the magazine, but very few back that up with in-depth knowledge of issues which came out years before. With his background in music and passion for the magazine he was a natural for the position, and I speak for the whole team when I say I’m thrilled about having Paul as our brand manager, and can’t wait to start working with him.”
Lightfoot is particularly keen to promote the recently-launched website (realgroove.co.nz). “Duncan is a mad-keen blogger and has developed a substantial online following in a relatively short space of time. My job is to monetize that, and I’ve got some good ideas for clients who would like to access that fanbase.”
