Author Claims Recession is a Boon for NZ Economy

For Immediate Release:

Local Author Claims Recession is a Boon for NZ Economy

The author of a new business book aimed at helping small businesses dealing with the recession, says that New Zealand should leverage the recession to gain ground against the economies of our larger global trading partners.

Chris Hanlon, the Hamilton-based author of: Don’t Lose Your Home over It! – Recession Strategy Secrets for Small Businesses, believes that New Zealand has a real advantage in the recession because of our smaller economy.

“Put it this way”, says Hanlon, “my book gives small businesses specific things they can do which will firstly protect their business from the fall-out of the recession, and secondly increase the profitability and market share of the business in a recessionary environment”.

“If just a few thousand businesses in New Zealand take these steps, we will see a noticeable improvement in our small economy. In order to gain a similar economic benefit in larger economies such as USA; UK; European and Asian countries, improving tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of businesses may not be enough.”

"This means we should be able to turn our economy around quicker than many of the larger countires and we should be able to enjoy a level of prosperity sooner than much of the rest of the world."

Although Hanlon’s book mentions the potential economic impacts, Don’t Lose Your Home Over It! is actually a manual intended to help the small business owner weather, and profit from, a recession. The book is available on Amazon.com, and some bookstores.
