Kiwi
start up Blinka.me delivers outstanding results and hits the
world stage
Blinka.me has seen considerable user growth in the past 3 months with traffic leaping significantly to a rate which is now more than doubling month on month.
During May visitor numbers to the new social reconnection site were recorded at 2,375. Which are comparable to 6,087 visitors in the last 30 days. This is a rise of more than 150% within the same quarter, which is an incredible result in the first few months of any online business.
“We launched the reconnections website only 3 months ago so we’re incredibly happy with this leap in visitors to the site. By listening to our users and business partners we have been able to continuously improve the site and user experience to a point where this upward trend is really exciting our team” says Andy McDowell Blinka.me Founder.
Visitors to the site are sticking around longer than in previous months with the number of page views up 60% and the length of time spent on the site growing each month.
During the last week of August Blinka.me saw over a 100 moments logged on the site, which is a significant jump in numbers based on earlier figures.
If you’re wondering who’s using Blinka? It’s not only Kiwi socialites who have been logging onto blinka.me, in last 30 days over 50% of traffic has been from international users primarily from the USA, UK and Australia.
The international growth for Blinka.me has developed as a result of the “spread” of information through social media and the pass on effect from online networking. International interest was also compounded by a number of online opinion leaders “Twittering” about the novelty of the new site in several countries, which include Germany, Greenland, Prague and Portugal.
Following this Blinka.me had positive reviews in leading tech news including ReadWriteWeb, Killer Startups and has been featured on Tec Crunch Pitches
"The
uses of such a site are evident - there are contexts where
exchanging details might not be suitable. In that case, you
know that it would be possible to reconnect later through
the website. Also, the system is quite advantageous for shy
people who are always worried about being rejected in
person, as they are saved any blushes since they can take
procure the information safely and without feeling that
exposed."
Killer Startups
"Although missed connections
sections in personals and classifieds make for great reading
on a boring Tuesday night, some kind of more powerful tool -
with a greater share of the market - is needed to act as a
beacon between social and professional ships passing in the
night. One site among several devoted to this cause is the
shiny, new Blinka.me, a very 2.0 version of your local
alternative weekly's back pages."
ReadWriteWeb
Other achievements for the quarter show the bounce rate dropping from 50% to less than 10% which the Blinka.me operational team believe is due to the new site content and modifications which have significantly improved the visitor experience.
