AXA simplifies its communications with Gen-i’s mobility solutions

AXA poised to achieve cost savings and improve productivity as it moves to the new XT Mobile Network

Auckland, 30 September 2009 – AXA New Zealand and Gen-i, a Telecom New Zealand business, have signed a three year contract that builds on its existing relationship with AXA company, Spicers Portfolio Management, to include mobility solutions enabled by Telecom’s new XT Mobile Network.

The contract includes voice, data, mobile, internet and Gen-i’s pricing tool, Optimise, and is expected to save the financial services provider an estimated 30 per cent on its annual telecommunications costs, reduce operational costs, and allow AXA to become more effective when meeting its customer’s needs.

Chris Day, AXA Chief Financial Officer, says mobile technologies offer new and innovative ways for AXA to communicate with its clients and enable the company to provide an even better level of customer service as the company’s mobile workforce moves to the new XT mobile network.

“Mobile solutions allow our financial advisers to work from anywhere at any time, allowing them to maximise their time and improve the way they operate.  It gives them the flexibility to work how they choose and better meet the needs of their customers.”

Chris Quin, Gen-i’s Chief Executive Officer, is excited about the opportunities the partnership will bring both companies.

“Gen-i has worked hard to understand AXA’s business and to develop a strong working relationship to deliver innovative solutions that help get the best results.  The XT Mobile Network strengthens our ability to provide clients with the full range of IT and telecommunications services, by significantly extending our mobile capability.

“We’ve had a successful partnership with Spicers Portfolio Management providing the company with its telecommunications for the past six years.  We look forward to extending this relationship to include AXA New Zealand,” he says.
